You are being invited to volunteer to participate in a research study. This summary provides information about this research.

• Researchers at the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) are conducting an online survey to understand the privacy attitudes and behaviors amongst various segments of the population.
• The study will take place in two parts. Part 1 is the survey you will complete today. We estimate it will take you 5-10 minutes to complete. Part 2 is a follow-up survey you will complete tomorrow. We estimate it will take you 5 minutes.
• If you complete the experiments for Part 1 and Part 2, you will get $5 as compensation.
• To qualify for participation in the interview, you need must meet the following two inclusion criteria: 1) You must be 18 years or older; 2) You must be a fluent English speaker lived in United State.
• The survey will be comprised of a set of questions including demographic, digital literacy, and privacy related questions.
• Efforts will be made to limit the use and the sharing of your personal information. All personal identifiable information (name, email address) will be stored separately from your survey responses. All data will be stored on a secure network and behind password protection. In the event of any publication or presentation resulting from this research, no personally identifiable information will be shared.
• Despite these measures, absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.
• As part of the research, we may mislead you or we may not tell you everything about the purpose of the research or research procedures. At the conclusion of the study, we will provide you with further information.

Your participation is voluntary, and you can decide to stop at any time. You do not have to answer any questions that you do not want to answer.
